Wrestling Mayhem Show 1010: Oba-Exposed
Wrestling Mayhem Show 1010 brings together Sorg, Mad Mike, and guest co-host Tina Keys for a wall-to-wall conversation about one of the busiest wrestling weekends of the year.
The episode opens with AEW Forbidden Door, where the crew spends plenty of time on the wild steel cage match that included NES cartridge violence, barbed wire controllers, hidden backpack surprises, Leo in a golf bag, and a massive explosion spot that sent Kevin Knight through tables. It was exactly the kind of chaotic crossover spectacle that gives Forbidden Door its own identity.
Mercedes Moné vs. Mina Shirakawa also gets major attention, with the crew praising Mercedes as a star maker and Tina pointing out how strong Mercedes continues to be in major women’s matches. The conversation also branches into Stardom, CMLL, AAA, Stephanie Vaquer, Bayley/Davina Rose speculation, and why international women’s wrestling continues to be one of the most exciting parts of the current wrestling landscape.
The crew also digs into Will Ospreay vs. Swerve Strickland, Kenny Omega vs. Zack Sabre Jr., and the importance of commentary that helps explain New Japan history for AEW viewers. Tina highlights how Forbidden Door benefits when the show gives fans enough context to understand why each international matchup matters.
On the WWE side, Sami Zayn’s championship victory at Night of Champions becomes one of the emotional centerpieces of the episode. Mad Mike argues that WWE finally making Sami a champion is one of its smartest recent moves, while the crew debates what comes next. Could Kevin Owens return? Could Cody Rhodes’ loss push him toward a darker path? And what exactly is WWE doing with Oba Femi after King of the Ring if Brock Lesnar is waiting at SummerSlam?
TNA Slammiversary gets its own spotlight as well, with Tina breaking down the introduction of the new Knockouts Television Championship, the announced tournament, Amazing Red and Konnan entering the TNA Hall of Fame, and Nick Nemeth becoming TNA World Champion. The crew also compares TNA’s WWE/NXT relationship with AEW’s relationship to New Japan.
Tina also introduces listeners to Produce Wrestling and makes a strong case for Charles Mason as one of the most underrated character performers in wrestling today. His work across GCW, JCW, House of Glory, Blitzkrieg Pro, and beyond becomes a springboard for a larger conversation about what makes a wrestler’s character portable and valuable across promotions.
The episode wraps with Pittsburgh indie wrestling talk, including RWA Unleashed, Super Hentai’s final stand, Enjoy Wrestling’s Best for Business, Nick Gage vs. Billy Dixon, and updates from IndyWrestling.us and IndyWrestling.Network.
And, of course, the show closes with “What We Learned,” including lessons about Sami Zayn, Super Hentai, picture-in-picture production, Mercedes Moné, Tecla vs. Stardom, and Tina’s unexplained belief that Tony Todd and Joe Hendry are somehow the same person.
