Wrestling Mayhem Show 1013: Riding the Train w/ Dani Mo
Pro wrestler Dani Mo returned to the Wrestling Mayhem Show studio for an episode that traveled far beyond the ring.
Joining Sorg and Mad Mike, Dani shared stories from a cross-country train adventure, her recent matches with international talent, her increasingly chaotic role in Juggalo Championship Wrestling and the lesson connecting it all: wrestling is supposed to be fun.
Dani Mo Takes the Train Across America
Dani’s journey began as a long-planned family trip aboard Amtrak. Rather than rushing through airports, the family traveled from Pittsburgh to Chicago before continuing through Seattle and San Francisco.
The first-class accommodations included compact sleeping rooms, showers, dining service and access to an observation car where passengers could watch the country pass outside the windows. Dani described the experience as something more people should try at least once.
The slower pace gave her time to enjoy destinations that are usually reduced to quick stops during wrestling travel. The family visited Chicago’s Bean, explored Seattle, saw the Space Needle, visited the redwoods and toured San Francisco landmarks including Alcatraz and Lombard Street.
There were also plenty of Dani Mo handstands along the way.
After the family portion of the trip ended, Dani continued traveling with a friend. They camped, hiked Yosemite’s challenging Mist Trail and drove to Las Vegas to see No Doubt perform at the Sphere.
The concert—and the large collection of merchandise Dani purchased—became a fitting conclusion to an adventure built around doing something purely because she wanted to experience it.
Disconnecting from the Wrestling Schedule
For Dani, the trip was not only a vacation. It was a rare opportunity to completely step away from wrestling.
She mostly stopped checking messages and emails. Outside of a few scheduled posts, she did not worry about maintaining a constant presence in the wrestling world.
That distance proved valuable.
Dani had originally expected to return from the trip and immediately begin another packed run of wrestling events. Several of those bookings were canceled, but instead of feeling disappointed, she welcomed the additional time to rest.
The experience reinforced the importance of recognizing burnout before it becomes overwhelming. Wrestlers spend so much time searching for the next booking that taking a genuine break can feel uncomfortable. Dani’s trip showed why those breaks can make the eventual return more rewarding.
International Competition at Enjoy Wrestling
Once she returned, Dani quickly reminded audiences what she could do inside the ring.
Her match with a visiting STARDOM wrestler at Enjoy Wrestling became one of the episode’s major talking points. Sorg praised the performance, while members of the live chat named it among their favorite matches of the event.
For Dani, the match was another opportunity to demonstrate that she can work successfully with international talent. She has received several chances to face wrestlers from Japan and believes those performances are building a strong case for her to eventually compete there herself.
Japan remains one of her major goals.
The Wrestling Mayhem Show is officially supporting the campaign to get Dani Mo to Japan.
Dani Mo Embraces the Chaos of JCW
Dani’s work in Juggalo Championship Wrestling is testing a very different side of her abilities.
As a two-time JCW Women’s Champion, Dani is involved in a strange and increasingly personal story with Barnabas. The storyline includes family drama, an adopted rival, implied drug use, a damaged vehicle and the type of unpredictable developments that make complete sense within JCW’s universe.
The role has also forced Dani to deliver longer in-ring promos and become comfortable with a more aggressive version of herself.
Dani admitted that the promo work can be intimidating. She is learning skills that do not come as naturally as wrestling a match, but working opposite an experienced character like Barnabas has made the process easier.
The result is a more complete performer. Dani is no longer focused only on what happens once the bell rings. She is learning how to carry a story, react to another character and make audiences emotionally invest before a match begins.
No wrestling school lesson could have fully prepared her to destroy a car as part of that development, but that is part of the JCW experience.
Mad Mike Reports from Madison Square Garden
Mad Mike also arrived with travel stories after attending WWE at Madison Square Garden.
He discussed the enormous reaction surrounding CM Punk, the New York Knicks celebration and the strange atmosphere created when a nationally televised program is designed heavily around its local audience.
For Knicks fans, the references and appearances made the show feel special. For anyone unfamiliar with the team’s championship story, some segments required additional explanation.
The crew also discussed Sami Zayn’s uncertain direction, possible SummerSlam developments and Nick Aldis returning to the ring after spending an extended period as an authority figure.
A discussion about authority figures changing matches at the last minute eventually produced a new television idea: Card Subject to Change, a series about all the wrestlers who thought they were booked before a backstage argument created a completely different main event.
Beastman vs. Gory Is Official for Sorgstock
The episode also featured the first official match announcement for Sorgstock.
Beastman will face Gory in The Big Bite-Off for the No Limits Championship. The match was originally planned for an earlier event but could not take place.
Sorgstock will provide another opportunity to present wrestling without the restrictions of normal continuity. The event is expected to feature strange match ideas, music, comedy, visual surprises and a party atmosphere.
That spirit connects directly to another event discussed during the episode: Beastman’s Big Ass Birthday Bash.
Celebrating Beastman
Beastman’s birthday event included themed hats, plates, balloons, fan activities, cake, weapons and a wrestling card built around celebrating Beastman’s personality.
Dani’s family attended, her niece nearly became involved with Gory and the entire show embraced the ridiculousness of the occasion.
It was not necessarily the largest event Dani had worked, but it was one of the most enjoyable.
That distinction became important during the episode’s “What We Learned” segment.
What Did We Learn?
Mad Mike learned from WWE Unreal that CM Punk quietly told John Cena, “I’m gonna miss you,” during their televised confrontation. The behind-the-scenes series also gave additional context to Cena’s creative decisions during his final run.
Dani learned—or reestablished—that wrestling can be an incredible amount of fun when performers allow themselves to enjoy it. The business provides chances to travel, meet people and experience things that would otherwise never happen.
Taking wrestling too seriously can cause performers to miss the moment they are currently living.
Sorg learned that he still does not fully understand Club WWE, but he also reached a larger conclusion.
Wrestling benefits from shows designed to celebrate specific people and unusual creative visions. Beastman’s birthday event, wrestler-focused benefit cards and experimental events such as Sorgstock allow professional wrestling to exist outside its normal continuity.
In other words, wrestling needs more non-canon.
Not every event has to advance a championship story. Sometimes wrestling can bring a community together, celebrate a person, attempt something completely ridiculous and create a memory that everyone involved will continue talking about.
That might be one of the most important things wrestling can accomplish.
